What is the best treatment for warts?

Warts, moles and skin tags can all cause embarassment and discomfort.

Warts are small harmless tumors of the skin caused by a virus called the human papillomavirus. The appearance of warts can differ based on the type of wart and where it is located on the body. Most warts are well defined, with skin thickening.

• Warts are common in children. Most cases occur between ages 12-16 years.

• Up to 30% of warts disappear by themselves within 6 months. Most will disappear without any treatment within 3 years.

But what if you don’t want to wait 3 years for your wart to disappear, or have multiple warts that will last a lot longer than 3 years or keep coming back nomatter what you do to get rid of them?

I was in a similar position. The warts I had were confined to a couple of fingers on one hand so I didn’t have a major problem by any means. I did, however, have a problem with them itching and being a bit sore when I used a pen due to the position of them.

I tried various methods to get rid of them, I tried every treatment for warts I could find, from over the counter pharmacy products supposed to burn them off, to the drastic measure of trying to cut them out myself with a knife!  Needless to say they always came back in no time at all.
